Trint is an entirely automated transcription service. We use state-of-the-art speech-to-text software to transcribe your audio and video files, which gives us several advantages over manual transcription services:
1. We charge a lower hourly rate because we don’t need to pay human transcribers.
2. We offer unparalleled levels of privacy: no one sees your content but you.
3. We transcribe your files at a much faster rate than you’ll get with manual transcription. Files are transcribed in less time than the duration of the original file.
Trint’s AI bots work best with high quality audio: the clearer the file, the more accurate the transcription (avoid background noise, music, street sound, echo and heavy foreign accents). Users tell us that with reasonably good audio their transcripts are up to 98% accurate.

Do you offer student discounts?
At this point in time, Trint does not have discounted pricing plans for students. However, if you represent an academic institution and would like to contact us about setting up an enterprise account, please contact our sales team at hello@trint.com.
Can I get a quote?
The total price of your transcription will depend on which pricing plan you choose (see our Pricing Page for more details). The more audio or video you transcribe, the lower the price. We recommend starting with our Pay-As-You-Go plan which costs $15 an hour; this allows the most flexibility with no monthly obligation.
Choosing a plan that’s right for me.
Most academic research projects have one thing in common: high usage over a short period of time. Often these projects are one off, so signing up for a monthly subscription plan may not be the right choice for you.
Trint offers several different plans, depending on your needs.
Pay As You Go

- 3 hrs monthly subscription, Trint automatically charges your card once a month.

Can you do one-time payments?
We do offer custom payment options, but because of the administrative costs that come with tailoring these to individual client needs, we require one time usage rates of at least 50 hours .
Turn-around time
Because Trint is entirely automated, we can produce a transcription in the same amount of time as it takes to play your audio/video files. So if your file is 2 hrs long, it will take Trint 2 hrs to produce a transcript. You can then edit the transcript to perfection in the Trint Editor.
What about confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements?
Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use function as our standard confidentiality agreement. This is usually sufficient for ethics boards approval. Should there be an issue with a particular clause or section of the existing agreements, please let us know at support@trint.com.
Data security and privacy protection
We take data security extremely seriously to ensure that your files are protected. Our Terms of Use, Website and Marketing Privacy Policy and Platform Privacy Policy were updated in the light of the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) security updates.
ISO 27001 forms the bedrock of Trint’s data security policies. Trint is in the process of obtaining ISO certification. This is a lengthy process and will take a number of months to complete.
The merit of using Trint is that no one can see your transcript or listen to your audio/video files: we use artificial intelligence which converts your audio into text, thus eliminating the middleman and any need for human involvement. We adhere to industry best practice when it comes to encryption. All of our data is stored securely on the cloud via Amazon Web Services (AWS), which has servers based across North America.
Our team does not have access to your uploaded materials, and we are required to ask you for permission, and the express sharing of your content, in order to acquire access (in instances of, for example, an inquiry to Support). We also have multiple safeguards that prevent other parties from accessing your data.
Data is stored on our servers for the duration of your use of Trint. Upon request we can perform a secure deletion of any and all transcript and audio/video files from an account; this will delete all your data from both our servers and AWS S3 servers.
