Avoid background noise
Talking, music, street sounds, echoes and distant microphones are all things that might be picked up by Trint’s AI and impact the quality of your transcript.
If you can control the environment, choose a quiet place with little to no echoes so a speaker’s voice won’t double up. If you are in a noisy room, try to keep the microphone a few inches from the speaker(s) if possible with the top of the mic pointing towards their face(s).
Add more microphones for multiple speakers
If there are many people in the room and one microphone in the center, this may reduce the audio quality for each speaker.
Try adding more microphones if you can record them to the same track. If each microphone makes its own recording, you can still upload each file to Trint and merge the best transcriptions for each speaker into a Story file.
If you have a mobile phone recording a conversation between two people in a quiet room, the audio should be fine as long as each speaker is close to the microphone.
With poor quality audio, you will often be able to hear a static or hissing noise on the audio recording which makes it harder for our AI to pick out words.
Try focusing on all of the sounds in your audio apart from human speech. If there is a significant amount of extra sound, try and improve the audio using editing software before running it through Trint.
