With clear audio, Trint detects when there is a change in speaker and automatically starts a new paragraph. Speakers will be identified as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, Speaker 3 etc.

Can I manually add speaker names?

Yes. Click on Add speaker or Speaker 1, Speaker 2 etc. to manually edit the speaker names. Once you have typed in the name of the speaker, the other fields below will be filled in automatically to save you time.

If multiple speakers are talking over each other, if one interrupts the other or if their voices are similar, Trint may not recognise a change. Simply add a paragraph to separate them. This will create a box that says Add speaker. Any boxes entitled Add speaker will not auto-populate subsequent entries.

Speaker detection isn’t working

If the text is appearing as one long paragraph, this might be because the box was not checked when you uploaded the file. You’ll need to re-upload the file and make sure Detect speaker change in the Customize your transcript window is ticked.

If Trint is detecting speaker changes incorrectly, this is likely to be because of the audio quality. With poorer quality audio, speaker detection may be less accurate.

Please note: When the system has not been able to identify the speakers will be labelled as Add speaker, you can change this text but it will only affect that one paragraph. It is not linked to any other speakers and it will not auto-populate the rest of the speaker entries.

How do I remove paragraphs or speakers?

You can remove paragraphs by pressing the backspace key at the start of the paragraph.

If you would like to delete a speaker name, hover over the name and a red cross will appear. Clicking this will delete the text in that box.

Can I delete a name from the speaker list?

Trint saves speaker names so it’s easier to add speakers. You cannot remove names from this speaker list.

Can I turn off speaker detection?

You can prevent Trint from detecting speaker changes by unchecking the box Detect speaker change when you upload the file. If you would like Trint to not detect speaker changes on an existing transcript, you will need to re-upload it or simply remove paragraphs by pressing backspace.

Can I apply speaker detection to previous transcripts?

You can only apply speaker detection when you first transcribe a file. You will need to re-upload and transcribe the file if you’d like it to be separated.
